Woodpecker!

Another I spy picture

One thing I enjoy about our new home is the trees in our back yard
On any given day I observe many different birds stopping by for a visit
Today "woody" as I like to call him made a visit!

We also have a cardinal and a blue jay and a crow. I am looking forward to the return of the Robin Family!
The thing that is crazy about me even taking a picture of a bird is that I don't particularly like birds!

Things change I guess!
Now I buy them houses and feeders and food (many of them show up for the berry suet)...
I am looking forward to the nests and the eggs and the babies!

How I long for spring!

Especially with the blizzard brewing today!
PS: Christmas Tree Shops sells suet for $.89 and suet cages for $1.00 each!

Snow Day Continued...

Today was a snow day.
I love snow days...
I made some home made chicken noodle soup and rolls

I also made snow ice cream and berries
And continued all day to check on this guy
He calls himself Nanuk the North in his puffy jacket LOL

While he took care of all the snow...
Oh and in between all of this I cleaned and watched the snow fall in our yard!

MELT away the stress...

This is a BLAST from the PAST
I am linking up with

The Trendy Treehouse

Life in the Pitts

I thought you all... especially in the East would enjoy my ice melt container...

With all the house buying nonsense going on
I needed to start and complete a project or I think I would go insane
I had this can for quite a while now and could not decide what to do with it!
It is a HUGE Biscotti  can with a rope handle and a lid!
I knew I wanted to store stuff in it and what better to store but ICE MELT for the patio (soon to be)
So I sanded the can lightly as you can see and then I began spray painting it.
I thought about removing the handle and then decided that it was super sturdy and why risk a catastrophe by changing it.
I painted the rope along with the can.. while it was still attached of course

The paint I used was SILVER ALUMINUM from Walmart
I was going to use another color but then did an enie meni minie moe and this is the color that was chosen
PLUS...
it reminds me of ICE and the can is for ICE MELT...
Get it?? LOL

Here is the can all shiny and new
The rope did not turn out too bad either
Thing is I can see every imperfection in the can now... like the places it was SLIGHTLY dented (I could not even see them before) and the places where I was too heavy on the sanding...
Oh well it is not like it wont get even worse over the winter
CHARACTER is what I like to call it

So I used my handy dandy Cricut to cut out the letters
M E L T

And here is the can... the bad picture taking skills are included free of charge

Oh by the way I think I paid 50 cents for the can!
I think it is CUTE!

A frame and a friend

Sometimes my thrifting is out of necessity
Like when I found my favorite picture of the hubs and I
BROKEN
Somehow ~ someway the hubs walked right into the frame
and
it fell to the floor and broke... HMMNNN... not a big deal~
For 1.49 (more than I like to pay) for this good quality frame I was able to get my favorite picture back on the shelf where it belongs And tell me please, how the heck could I have passed this lady up?
She was only 25 cents
I am normally NOT this primitive BUT I think she is adorable
I have plans for her... she is getting an update
I may keep her or I may gift her
But I wasn't leaving her behind!
