~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Using only what I had on hand I created my Winter~Mantle
No, I don't technically have a mantle but here is what I did anyway
I have a vintage black mirror on my fireplace (this mirror is not dirty... it is scratched and silvered in spots)
I added a set of silver stacking boxes that were a gift this past Christmas
I have a pair of vintage skates that I bought a few years back for 2.00
I had an empty frame that I added some striped scrapbook paper and over the frame LET IT SNOW
The apothecary jar was filled with glittery flakes ... a wooden J... and a sparkly heart
The candle sticks match our plates and the red candles are from Christmas
The twiggy wreath was bought last winter at Sallys for 1.99
The one large snowflake was a gift from my mother in law and the other (lower) was a Dep 56 goodie from a few years back
The wooden snowflake was purchased at a craft shop sometime ago
Here are some more pictures...
EDIT: I had an email about the ribbon used in this display... the ribbon is mittens and snowflakes it is sheer with wire and some glitter
  1. Like your ice skates! I have been looking for a pair myself to use to decorate outside-never thought about putting them on the mantel!
  8. I love your ice skates. Isn't it fun to have something so unexpected like that on your mantel. Something most people don't have. I love it.
