Oh no...

Joining Pure Style Home today too with my tupperware storage ...


I did a little organizing and de~cluttering today and it feels so good!

 They say what you can't see wont hurt you... but it drives me CRAZY!!

Since we were snowbound with 14" of the pretty white stuff I decided to take a look at a few drawers and cupboards today

I am almost embarrassed to even show them... but being that I am trying hard to keep it real... here goes nothing

I have not de~cluttered these since the holidays...

Hutch drawer in living room.. this is our go to drawer... the one where we keep most of the things we use all the time.

Yep that is the same drawer...

Notice the organizer ~ I love it! And made plans to begin using it the RIGHT way today!

It was from Christmas Tree Shops

It cost $9.99

It came with stickers that I put in the little cubbies for things such as tape, scissors, pens, sewing supplies, coins and so much more

The dust has since been vacuumed out LOL

Moving along to the end tables in the same room... again not cleaned out since the holidays.. 

you know... 

friends call from the driveway and you make a mad dash around the house to put everything into a drawer...

Not guaranteeing they will stay this way but for now... I love it!

Moving onto the kitchen... another spot I have not de~cluttered since the holidays... boy this is BAD!!!

This is our plastic container/wrap/baking cupboard

I threw out quite a few containers and even filled one up...

Here is the Tupperware container I decided to properly use...

It is divided in three sections with a stopper that you can move for what you need

I put half boxes of foods into it

pastina, rice and polenta all have a new home!

Too cool!

So moving onto our food cupboard...

I threw out some stuff and the put other things into smaller containers

This large cupboard and a drawer are the only places we use to store food

 This way I don't overbuy and I throw less away

It is supposed to be a snack drawer... I moved the coffee stuff to a higher cupboard because we only use coffee for company but it has been there since ... the holidays

Boy the holidays really get to me LOL

Monogram Plate

On a recent visit to my favorite shop 

Christmas Tree Shops

I picked up this cute Monogram plate for $1.00

 

Can you see it up there on the shelf above my sink?

It is so cute!

Brunch...

My friend Meghan over here at Unintended Housewife inspired me to have a brunch!

Since moving into our new home, I really enjoy having people over.

This time the invitees were my mom and dad.

I served brunch!

I did not worry if the house was clean enough...

for once!

I just called and told them to come over for 11am

I served scones with cream and jam

A breakfast casserole

A lime fruit salad

Coffee ~ Tea ~ Juice

Easy peasy!!

Really... it was

I had the scones in the freezer and warmed them up in the oven

Whipped some fresh cream

Made a egg, sausage and hash brown casserole and left it overnight in the fridge

Cut up some fruit and added some fresh lime juice, honey and poppy seed

That is it ... oh and I woke up at 10am, turned on the oven and set the table!

My dad voted that we do this weekly... no one seconded him!

But I may just call and tell them to show up again soon!

So I created this plate wall and HATED it!

Not the plates... not the saying but the placement of the plates!

I needed to do something with this wall in my kitchen

it is the first wall you see when you enter our home and it is the last wall you see when you exit

I did not want anything too permanent as I am constantly changing things around

I came across this saying and loved it and tweaked it for our home

In This Home

We do second chances

We do grace

We do real

We do mistakes

We do I’m sorry

We do loud really well

We do hugs

We do family

We do love

In addition to the two large plates you can see in the pic I also just purchased 6 smaller plates and one ribbon plate for super cheap

I decided to add the saying to the various plates and place them on the wall

Here is a picture tour of what I did

here are the plates that I purchased on clearance for 70cents each at JCP outlet

I added hooks to the back of each of them

using THIS wonderful tutorial

I then cut vinyl from my cricut  in various fonts and attached to each plate

I added the words to the two larger plates and then decided to just put the word on the smaller ones

So then I decided to add the HOLIDAY seasonal plate too...

Using this plate

that I got for 2.00 at a thrift store ... It is a Southern Living at Home plate that you can add ribbon to... so after adding the vinyl

I then added ribbon and hung the plate on the wall

yes... everything does look crooked in this picture... LOL

So now here is the wall... almost finished !

I am going to sit with it for a little while and see how I can tweak it!

While I love how it turned out... I am not sure I like how it is placed if that makes sense.
