EOWWWW....

I never imagined just how tough it would be to take this house and make it our home!
We are all just ready for vacation

Here is a  list of all the things that have been done in the last two weeks since we became home owners
  1. Thoroughly cleaned all surfaces of the entire house with bleach and water
  2. Regrouted the bathroom floor
  3. De~cobwebbed the entire house
  4. Removed all the kitchen cabinets, cleaned, sanded and painted (almost all) WHITE
  5. Removed the hardware from the cabinets, cleaned and painted BLACK
  6. Removed grating from the front door
  7. Removed shutters from side of door
  8. Painted kitchen door
  9. Painted linen closet and trimmed with ribbon
  10. Cleaned grout in kitchen 
  11. Painted stove hood
  12. Painted all heat registers
  13. Painted kitchen wall 
  14. Painted hallway
  15. Painted living room 
  16. Painted spare bedroom
  17. Removed several bushes and trees from the yard
  18. Freecycled leftover mattress and boxspring
  19. Cleaned all windows
  20. Sized the kitchen wall for the BB wallpaper
  21. Shelf lined all shelves in kitchen 
  22. Painted inside drawers in kitchen 
  23. Painted inside medicine cabinet 
  24. Painted medicine and lower cabinet
  25. Removed all outlet and light switch covers
  26. Covered AC for winter
  27. Painted tile in kitchen
  28. Cleaned fireplace and brick wall
  29. Removed brick planter and repaired wall and floor
  30. New GFCI switches in kitchen and bathroom
  31. New Electrical panel
  32. New light in basement and kitchen 



Left to do
  1. Finish edge painting our bedroom
  2. Paint computer room 
  3. Finish coating cabinets
  4. Replace all cabinets
  5. Change all light switch covers
  6. Assemble the mailbox
  7. New flooring throughout
  8. Paint basement entry walls
  9. Install shelf under bathroom sink
  10. Hang curtains in kitchen, bathroom, living room, and all bedrooms
  11. Radon system to be installed
  12. Drylock basement
  13. Sensor light outside
  14. Hang BB Wallpaper
Oh ... PACK our current house and MOVE it...
...and the big one... BREATHE!

Oh and as an aside, this house was not lived in for over 2 years and prior to that I believe it was an elderly gentleman who lived there so things were not updated
We love the structure of this home and knew with a lot of sweat equity we could have the house we wanted!

  1. Oh my! That's more like 2 MONTHS worth of work! You guys DO need a vacation! Thank goodness our new house really needs nothing done to it...except I did want to put up that bead board wall paper in the the laundry room. Let me know how you like it! And we are having new carpet installed in two of the bedrooms. Other than that...I'm not doing a thing! I'll say a prayer for you to finish quickly and that you will be able to rest well when it's all finished.
