I am so excited to join this party!!!

We were looking and looking for houses for about 6 years!
Nothing was ever right to the point that I thought we would never find a house and we were destined to live in my parents upstairs apartment for forever!
I wanted a Victorian fixer upper and the hubby wanted a ranch!
He was not going to budge.. so I did... reluctantly!
I drove by our house for 2 years... looking at the for sale sign thinking
"yah it is a brick ranch BUT look ... there is no yard" and every excuse I could think of!
Online too I kept running into our house...3 bedroom ranch I would read... not again I would think... I don't want that house!
But our house was persistent ... in perusing us!
So ... one day I finally said to the hubby that in order to clear my mind I needed to see this house!
Even though it was a ranch he did not even want to see it... it was too small... no yard... too old... too much work!
So we called our family friend/Realtor and asked to see it!
He thought we were crazy and really did not want to show it to us!
He thought we were crazy and really did not want to show it to us!
So on a rainy, dark and dreary day... we met and it was
Love at first sight!
It was everything we did not know we wanted!
Within a month we closed on this house and spent the next month making it liveable... and we are now content to spend the rest of our lives making it a home!
We are so blessed!

What a lovely story. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how things work out sometimes? What a neat story!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Can't wait to see/read more about it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your story! It's so lovely to find the one home you want to spend forever in!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how some things are just meant to be. Your house is lovely and you have indeed made it a wonderful home. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteJust like pets...sometimes the houses choose us.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you finally took the time to look at it.

What a great story! I'm sure the house is glad you just finally gave in a bought it! :-) It will be fun to continue to put your own stamp on it.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like having your OWN space is there?! Hubby and I bounced from apartments, to on post living until we were settled enough (and in one spot long enough) to buy a home! Thanks for sharing!

This is fun, I am going to go over and join in the fun.
ReplyDeleteGrats on your home! What a cool story! It's similar to ours. I don't do meme's very often, but we just bought our first home 2 weeks ago and I'm sooo excited! I'm glad you are doing this!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story! Just wanted to let you know that I am featuring your blog tomorrow on my Featured Followers Friday.

That is such a fun story! Isn't it strange how things work out? I love that neither of you really wanted the house, but your house somehow knew better (yes, I realize how crazy that sounds). Thanks so much for linking up to my party!
ReplyDeleteAww how cute, your house found you instead of vice versa! I also have a brick ranch, that's why your photo caught my eye. I also wanted a cute bungalow or Victorian, but I just couldn't find any I liked in a nice area here. So I ended up with a brick ranch that I had not originally set out to get :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky house, to have you as its mistress!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you say that your house was everything that you never knew you wanted. That's the way a lot of love stories are, isn't it? :)
I've had a few of those "everything I never knew I wanted moments" too. Isn't it great? Wonderful story!
