My mom came over tonight to measure for window dressings
(does anyone say this any more or is it just me?)
Meanwhile I was cleaning the tile in the kitchen and the bathroom
Look at this FILTHY tile in our new kitchen UGGHHH!!!

I used this awesome product that cleans grout like you would not believe!

In the meantime my mom joined me in the kitchen to talk about my plans... which include beadboard wallpaper and painting the UGLY cupboards WHITE!!
My mom began taking the handles off
and we were discussing how I planned on painting these BLACK and then
(mom is surprised by the camera... look at the UGLY wall and light fixture in the background... the only beautiful thing in the pic is my mom!)
in the spring I would like to get new handles
And then it happened... my mom let out a yelp and off falls the back plate onto the counter and to our delight... these handles are two pieces!
WAHOO!!!
There is a back plate and a handle!
So here are our new handles... almost... I will be cleaning them and then spraying them BLACK!~
I have so much planned!!!
I'm so afraid that I'm not going to leave my house clean enough for the new owners. I really want to and hope I can get everything done in time. But what looks fine to one person, may seem just gross to another, so we'll see. Can't wait to see the cabinets!
ReplyDeletePatricia, I used to have those very same cabinet pulls in my house in Michigan! Like you, I was amazed to learn that they were actually two parts--but I didn't learn this until I had bought new handles. Your idea of painting the handles is great! Now you'll have a new look for almost no $$. Congratulations!
