Sneak Peek...

In a few days is the big 30th birthday party for my bestest brother in the whole wide world
There is a sort of theme of
CANDY
The colors are lime green and burgundy with these bright and cheery bday cups and plates and accessories
Sounds strange but it should look nice
I am planning to take LOTS of pictures!!!
I have buckets with old fashioned candy that I plan to have on the dessert table but I needed something for the little kids.. then I found rainbow candy canes that I saved for whatever...

The canes are still just perfect tasting in case you were thinking 'ewe, gross'

I saw this idea somewhere but of course never did save it or bother to look it up again so I am not even sure who to give credit to

Here is what I did

I opened all the canes and laid them out on a parchment lined cookie sheet into the shape of a heart

I placed them in the oven (400 degrees) for a few minutes until they began to soften

I then took them out and pushed down on the curved part to seal
I lifted up the one end at the bottom and pushed the lollipop stick in and the covered the other one
probably not the safest way and or the proper way but...
I did it my way (hey that is a song?)

Then I wrapped them in cellophane bags with curly ribbon
Hope the kids love them! Oh and the BEST part of all of this is that this treat for 15 did not cost me a thing... I had everything on hand
